What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the art and science of permanent hair removal.  Using the latest state- of -the -arts technology, a minute amount of electricity is gently applied to the base of the hair follicle. This process destroys the hair growth tissue and blood supply to the hair follicle. 

Why should I choose electrolysis over other hair removal methods?

If you want permanent hair removal, electrolysis is the only methods approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and AMA (American Medical Association)for permanent hair removal and it works!

Do Electrologists' follow appropriate Infection control protocol?

Yes, The CDC and MIOSHA has written infection control standards that must be adhered to gain and maintain licensure in the state of Michigan. Plaque's are posted inside the treatment room to show completion of training.

How many treatments are required?

The number of treatments necessary varies with each client.  Treatment sessions can range from 15 minutes to more than an hour depending on the area being treated.  Factors to consider are hair growth cycle, amount of hair per inch, type of hair (coarse or fine), hormonal issues, heredity, certain medications and stress. The number of treatments needed depend heavily on frequency care, amount of hair and  and reason for excessive hair growth.

Is Electrolysis Effective?

Yes, No other hair removal solution can claim such universal acceptability and success. It is important to follow the recommended treatment plan to achieve optimum results.

Are all hairs eliminated in one treatment or is regrowth to be expected?

Excessive hair growth, known as hirsutism or hormonal hair growth such as PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome) can range from fine to dark coarse hairs on the face and body.  Breaking down the hair growth cells may require more that one treatment, along with regular treatments the length of care, excessive hair will be eliminated.

What is the normal growth cycle of a hair?

Hairs have differing cycles of growth, depending on area of the body or face; many of which are not visible on the surface of the skin at the same time.  The follicle produces the hair from the blood supply and discards it eventually through shedding. The process of growth, rest, release and regrow are known as the hair growth cycle.  This regrowth process takes about 4 - 6 weeks.

What does Electrolysis feel like?

The sensation a client feels varies,  some say it's feels like a mosquito bite others say the sensation is OK. With new technology and treatment protocols, treatment is more comfortable and effective than ever before. 

Does Electrolysis have any side effects on the skin?

Immediately after treatment, there may be some slight redness and swelling but will subside shortly after your appointment; it is important to follow post care instructions and contact your electrologist for any concerns you may have following treatment.

Can unwanted hair be removed from anywhere on the body?

Does Electrolysis work on blonde, red, grey or white hairs?

Can hairs be removed from Moles?

Electrologist can remove hair from most moles, however a written approval from your physician is required.
